Preparing for chicks
It can be overwhelming to know what your chicks will need. To get started, you need a brooder for them to live in, feeder, waterer, heat plate, and bedding. I add a supportive supplement to their water for the first week. Other than that, keep it simple!

Chick brooders:
-Little Red Barn Kit great for up to 5 chicks until they go to the coop, or 10 chicks for a few weeks. Comes with feeder, waterer, heater, liners, and swing.
-Big Red Barn great for up to 8 chicks until they go to the coop, or up to 20 chicks for a few weeks. Comes with 2 feeders, 2 waterers, heater, liners, and swing
-Rabbit Cage great for up to 8 chicks
-Pop up Cage great for up to 20 chicks
Chick Feeders:
-8 hole feeder I use this one for chick crumbles
-Rent a Coop hanging feeder I use this one for grit (If you get the barn kits, this is already included)
Chick Waterers:
-Large waterer for 2-20 chicks This is included in the barn kits
Brooder plate for heat:
-Brooder plate 10” Great for a small clutch of 3-5 chicks from hatch until they go to the coop. More chicks can fit for a short time.
-Brooder plate 12" Great for 6-8 chicks until they go to the coop. More chicks can fit for a short time. (included in the barn kits)
-Brooder plate 16" Great for 1-15 chicks until they go to the coop. More chicks can fit for a short time.
Bedding:
